AN INTRODCTION TO PETROLEUM INDUSTRY

AN INTRODCTION TO PETROLEUM INDUSTRY (Upstream Sector)

Petroleum is a fuel that provides energy to turn most of the wheels of the industry, transport and agriculture. A common man has a very little idea of how oil and gas are generated, discovered and taken out from great depths, processed, refined and finally marketed for use by general public and industry.

The oil and gas industry constitutes a broad spectrum of human endeavor. A person who has been working in one particular department or section for number of years may not know much about the rest of the industry. The finance, legal, audit, government personnel, service providers related directly or indirectly to oil and gas industry need to understand the different aspects and operational activities of the industry.

This course is designed to provide an overview of most aspects of the oil and gas industry with special reference to Pakistan to technical and non-technical personnel in the petroleum and related sectors.
